Happy New Year!

Well, here we are just a day and a half into 2009 and already this year I’ve heard about three new publishing companies that insist they’re out to help writers, and will probably only mop up their first rights along with a big wad of cash, and do little or nothing to really help with sales… it never ends.

Meanwhile, Sally Quilford has revealed the secret of successful writing over on her blog: don’t give up. She’s right, you know.

Happy new year, girls–I’m amazed I made it!Jan, what plans do you have for the year? I’m determined to write more, blog more and weigh less, but we’ll see how well I do with any of those. And Michelle: you’re welcome! Thank you for giving me the chance to sharpen my teeth a little, so early in the year. I do hope that Catcher Ltd leaves you alone: as we’ve already established over at AW, it’s not a company that has much to offer us and their habit of spamming people in order to attract customers is not a good one.

What a sound blog. I wandered here from The Other Side of Paris and found myself reading you right through. Bless you – and I hope lots of wannabe writers find you.
