A short-story writer called Brenda Carter has written a story called Past, Present and Future and sent it off into the big wide world all alone.
And I mean all alone.
Brenda’s contact details have become separated from her story, which is a shame: because an editor wants to buy the story, but can’t find Brenda to let her know.
So, if anyone out there knows Brenda, could you please ask her to contact me? Or if you ARE Brenda, do a little happy-dance ever so quickly and then contact me, so I can tell you who you need to contact!
I was contacted about poor Brenda too, and have launched a Find Brenda campaign on my blog…Come on all, let’s get blogging and twittering and facebooking – someone out there knows Brenda! We need to get her story published, through the power of internet writers’ networks!
I’ve also blogged about Brenda, and twittered and facebooked. We shall find the elusive Brenda between us all!

When you think how it’s drummed into us to include a cover sheet, it amazes me too. But, of course, we don’t know if Brenda did fail to include one, or whether it got lost in transit.Now, I’m just wondering how many future womag stories are going to be called Calling Brenda Carter

Phew so glad she was found!
Quillers, I don’t know if that’s what happened here, but by the time someone finally wanted to buy my novel I had moved 5,000 miles, my phone was of course disconnected and my forwarding address had expired.
Fortunately my email address hadn’t changed.It can take so long for a manuscript to bubble up from the bottom of the slush pile, and life goes on….
