You could let me know how much you’ve written, if you liked (I’ve written two articles this week, a handful of rough blog posts, and about 3,000 words of fiction, none of which are on my computer yet).
And if you spot any interesting publishing-related articles or blog posts, please post links here so I can catch up with them once I’m back to full strength. I am SO VERY BORED with not being able to play on the internet, watch TV, or read. It would make me very happy to come back here and find all sorts of juicy links.
I had a slightly mad idea last night, that while I’m off work I should try to write at least one publishable piece a day – a combination of articles and short stories. Then I remembered that I have a novel to get to submittable standard during the same period of time, and that for at least some of that time I’m going to be recovering from a general anaesthetic … still, it’s good to have goals.Hope you’re better and back on-line properly soon. I’ve finally jumped out of a writing funk and now I’m wrapping up a very important plot point in my novel. Hope to tie things together very soon so I can get to the end already.

Jane, your blog is on my blogroll – I came to it via Sally Zigmond – not only do I enjoy her blog but she was kind enough to give my novel a brilliant review in QWF magazine some years back. I’m not getting much writing done just now but have been shortlisted in this year’s Bridport Prize which has given me a lift. I’ve been running my blog since 2007 and have loved meeting people out in the blogosphere – there’s so much sympathy, fellowship and sharing of information – and, given how risk averse publishers are, so much freedom and spontaneity. If you really want to know what I’ve been writing: I’m three difficult chapters into my next novel, with lots of excitement on the part of my editor and agent, but it feels like pulling teeth because my mind is also partly on three impending property transactions and my new business, Pen2Publication, which has got off to a busy start. I’ve been eating way too many holiday treats but still writing. One essay and one poem in the last few days. {Need to write so much more. That will be my new year’s resolution.}
